We chose the name Jaywalker because it stands for an attitude that fits us. It was born in New York, where many people cross the street wherever no car is coming and the way is direct. Not where the traffic light tells them to. That is exactly what we mean: take the direct path and trust your own judgement, instead of waiting for the signal.
That the name also brings to mind Luke Skywalker, the protagonist of Star Wars, settled the decision quickly. Because Luke's path stands for this attitude too. From a restless farm boy, for whom the mapped-out way is too narrow, he becomes someone who trusts his own intuition. Most clearly in the moment when he switches off the targeting computer and relies entirely on his own instinct. That courage to go your own way is what we mean by Jaywalker.
We build and run a complex ecosystem of cantonal banks, partners and technology that a whole generation uses every day. The real work is bringing very different people together into one team. Personalities who are experts in their field and hold themselves to a high standard.
